This instant pot frozen wings recipe makes use of a few ingredients, and only minimal prep is required in cooking it.
It is perfect for when you want to make a quick appetizer or main dish to serve with sides like potatoes, and vegetables.
The instant pot cooks the wings tender, and you can then crisp the skin in the oven or air fryer all under 30 minutes which makes this the quickest method of cooking frozen chicken wings.
You can toss in your favorite sauce like BBQ sauce, buffalo sauce, garlic butter, etc.
I used uncut whole chicken wings for this post but you can use cut ones drummettes and flats as the same cooking time applies.
I used the Instant pot duo for this recipe however you can use any other pressure cooker brand like pressure king pro, or ninja foodi. You might have to adjust the cooking time if using any other brand of pressure cooker than the instant pot.

Chicken wings
Paprika
Parsley

How To Cook Frozen Chicken Wings in Instant Pot
In a small bowl, mix the paprika, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, black pepper, salt.
Apply the seasoning all over the chicken wings ensuring all parts are covered.
Add a cup of water into the pot of the instant pot, then put the trivet inside the pot.
Put the seasoned frozen wings on the trivet then cover the instant pot with its lid.
Turn the lid valve into a sealing position. Set instant pot to manual pressure cook on high for 10 minutes. After this time, do 5 minutes natural release.
When the instant pot is depressurized, open the lid and bring out the chicken wings.
Arrange the wings on a baking tray then broil for 5-6 minutes for golden brown, crispy skin.
You can also air fry to get crispy skin.
How Long To Cook Frozen Chicken Wings in Instant Pot
How long to cook frozen chicken wings in instant pot is 10 minutes of pressure cooking on high followed by 5 minutes natural pressure release.
For very large pieces, you pressure cook for 12 minutes then 5 minutes natural release. This does not take into account the time to broil it in the oven or brown in the air fryer.
To test if the chicken is cooked: Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the chicken wings, If it reads at least 165F/75C, then it is safely cooked and good to eat.

How To Store
To store leftover chicken wings, leave them to cool completely, then put it in an airtight container or Ziplocs before storing them in the fridge or freezer.
It will keep well in the fridge for up to 4 days but to store it for a longer time period, put it in the freezer where it will last for up to 6 months.
Frozen chicken wings can be reheated from frozen in the microwave, air fryer, or oven. You don't need to thaw it before reheating but if you wish to thaw it first, you can leave it in the fridge overnight.
To reheat in the oven: Put the wings on a baking tray and bake at a temperature of 200C for 4 minutes or until it's warmed through.
