    Ingredients

The full ingredient quantities and instructions are in the recipe card at the bottom of this post.

Chicken - Use Boneless chicken breast or boneless chicken thighs.

Cream cheese- I used Philadelphia cream cheese.

Pasta- I used penne but use any of your choice. Long pasta like spaghetti and linguine or short pasta like rigatoni and fusilli all work well with cream cheese and chicken

Onion- white onion, brown or yellow Onion works fine for this recipe. Onions are aromatic and flavorful.

Garlic -Minced garlic adds flavor and aroma to Chicken pasta.

Paprika- I like to use smoked Paprika however you can substitute it for regular Paprika.

Italian seasoning- This is a combination of herbs like dried thyme, parsley, basil, oregano, and marjoram.

Black pepper - or cayenne or pepper flakes.

Onion granules- This can be substituted for onion powder.

Garlic granules- You can use garlic powder if that's what is available.

Chicken stock- You can use water + bouillon cube to make this.

    Parmesan

Olive oil - Vegetable, sunflower, or any odorless oil can be used.

    Salt

    Zucchini

    Storage and Reheating

Not only is this dish easy to make but leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator.
It's best eaten when made, but to store leftovers follow these directions:

Fridge- pack it into a sealable bowl, then put it in the fridge where it will last up to 3 days
Freezer- Put in an airtight container that is freezer safe, label, and put in the freezer where it will last up to 2 months.

Reheating- Reheat on the stovetop or microwave.

To reheat on the stovetop- Add the pasta and chicken to a pan, and add a splash of milk to it. Cook on low medium heat till it is warmed through.

To reheat in the microwave-Transfer chicken pasta to a microwave safe plate, add a sprinkle of milk or water, cover, and microwave at high setting at 30 seconds intervals until it's warmed to your desired hotness.

Tips For Making Cream Cheese Chicken Pasta

    • You can season the chicken with any seasoning of your choice. Cajun seasoning, chicken breast seasoning, and jerk seasoning are some I like to use.
    • When cooking the chicken, ensure the skillet is heated before adding the chicken so you get a nice sear on them.
    • The chicken should be cooked through with no pinkness in the middle and the juice running clear and the internal temperature at the thickest part at least 165F before taking it out of the skillet to a plate.
    • Rest the chicken for a few minutes before slicing so that the juice inside has time to redistribute.
    • You can slice or cube the chicken or leave them as fillets in the sauce. The decision is yours.
    • Deglaze the skillet to get the brown bits in the sauce. Do this by scraping the bottom of the skillet when you've added the chicken stock and pasta water.
    • Reserve pasta water and add some to the cream cheese sauce for a silkier texture.
    • Use any pasta of your choice for this recipe. Follow the package instruction to cook the pasta aldente.
    • Cream cheese chicken with pasta is best served hot.
