Deep Fried Chicken Breasts Recipe
This is a simple deep fried chicken breast recipe. It is easy, quick, and takes only 12 minutes of fry time.
You can make the fried chicken breasts plain or lightly breaded in flour and buttermilk. Whichever way you choose the chicken comes out with crispy outer and tender meat, they are flavorful and tasty.
Just a few spices are used in seasoning the chicken before being fried in oil with a high smoking point. The oil of choice here is vegetable oil although you can use others like sunflower oil or peanut oil.
These deep fried chicken breasts are high in protein, low carb, and without breading, suitable for the keto diet.
Chicken breasts are versatile and this boneless skinless chicken breast can be used in salads, sandwiches, soup, and more. It can also be made ahead and stored for later use.
No artificial flavoring is used in preparing this chicken dish. It makes use of clean ingredients, and it's delicious.

Chicken breasts
Paprika
Garlic powder

How To Deep Fry Chicken Breast (Fried Chicken)
Pat the chicken breast pieces dry with a paper towel.
In a small bowl, add the flour, half of the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix together till well combined.
In a separate bowl, add the buttermilk and the remaining half of the onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, paprika, and salt.
Dip each chicken breast in the buttermilk mix, then dip in the flour mix to get all the parts dredged in flour.
Place a chip pan or deep pot on a stove on medium heat. Add vegetable oil (enough to immerse the chicken) into the pot and heat.
When it's heated to about 350F/175C, gently put the chicken breast pieces inside.
Fry chicken for 12 minutes until golden brown and cooked inside.
You will know it's cooked when there is no pinkiness in the middle and when a thermometer inserted at the thickest part reads not less than 165F/74C.
Take out the fried chicken from the oil and put it on a plate.
Rest it for 5 minutes before serving.
Fried Chicken Breast No Breading
Pat the chicken breasts dry with a kitchen towel.
In a small bowl, mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
Add the seasoning to the chicken breasts and rub till well covered.
Put a chip pan or deep pot on the stove. Add oil into it to be at least 2 inches deep.
Heat the oil on medium heat to a temperature of 350F. Add in the seasoned chicken breast and fry for 12 minutes till it's golden brown and cooked inside.
How Long To Deep Fry Chicken Breast
How long to deep fry chicken breasts depend on factors such as the size, depth, and temperature of the oil.
For medium sized chicken breast, It takes 10-12 minutes to deep fry at a temperature of 350F/75C.
To know if the chicken is cooked, check with a probe (thermometer), if the internal temperature at the thickest part is at least 165F or 75C, then it is safe to eat.

How To Store
First, leave it to cool completely then pack in a sealable container or Ziploc, label with name and dates then store it in the fridge where it'll store well for up to 4 days or store it in the freezer where it will keep well for up to 6 months.
Deep fried chicken breast can be reheated in the microwave, oven, air fryer, or on the stovetop.
To reheat in the microwave: Put the refrigerated fried chicken on a microwave-safe plate, cover with microwave lid, and heat at high settings for 1.5 - 2 minutes or until heated through.
Tips
- If the chicken breasts are uneven, you can flatten them with a mallete.
- Use a kitchen towel to pat the chicken dry before adding the spice rub.
- You can make cuts in the chicken breasts to get seasoning inside.
- It's ok to use any good seasoning or dry rub of your choice.
- Use oil that has high smoking point for frying.
- It's important to use a deep pot and the oil should not cover more than ⅔rd of the pot before puting chicken in.
- Rest chicken breast for 5 minutes before cutting into it.
