Air Fryer Frozen Chicken Wings Dry Rub
The spices and herbs used for the seasoning are few but packed full of flavor. They are ones you likely already have in your pantry. The spices are paprika, parsley, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder. You can add thyme and oregano.
To then make the dry rub into a marinade, I added some vegetable oil.
Here is another great chicken wings dry rub that you can use for this recipe. It uses more ingredients and it's one of my favorite spice rub for frozen wings.
Other seasonings suitable for this are chicken breast seasoning, and simple chicken seasoning.

How to Cook Frozen Chicken Wings in Air Fryer
Preheat the air fryer at a temperature of 200C/400F.
Mix the paprika, parsley, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and oil in a small bowl.
Bring the frozen chicken wings out of the freezer and rinse under the tap just to get ice off.
Brush the wings with the marinade to cover every part of the chicken wings then arrange the marinated wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Set the air fryer to 400F/200C and air fry wings for 24-26 minutes. Turn the wings in the air fryer after the first 12 minutes then continue to cook the wings for another 12 minutes.
Bring out the air fryer basket, take out the chicken wings and leave it to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
How Long To Cook Frozen Chicken Wings in air fryer
This depends on various factors like how big the wings are, the type and brand of the air fryer, the temperature you are air frying at, and some other factors however for medium-sized chicken wings, how long to air fry frozen chicken wings at a temperature of 200C /400F is between 24-26 minutes.
How long to cook frozen chicken wings at a temperature of 375F/190C is between 25-30 minutes.
To air-fry frozen chicken wings at a temperature of 180C, it will take 30-35 minutes.
It's important to ensure that the wings are safely cooked before you eat them.
There should be no blood around the bone and inside the meat. If in doubt, check with a meat thermometer to determine that the internal temperature when the thermometer is inserted at the thickest point is at least 165F/75C.
Frozen Breaded Chicken Wings in Air Fryer
To cook frozen breaded chicken wings in the air fryer is even easier than the raw ones as you don't have to deglaze and season. To air fry breaded wings:
Arrange the breaded frozen wings in the air fryer basket.
Put the basket in the air fryer and air fry wings for 20-25 minutes at a temperature of 190C.
Flip the wings halfway through cooking.
Bring out the air fryer basket and take out the wings.
Serve and enjoy air fryer frozen breaded wings.

How to Store
To store leftover air fried chicken wings, leave them to fully cool, then pack them in an airtight container or freezer bags before storing them in the fridge or in the freezer.
If you want to store it for no longer than 3 days, it's ok to store it in the fridge where it will last for up to 5 days. If you would like to store it for longer than 5 days, it's best to store it in the freezer where it can be stored for up to 6 months.
How To Reheat
You can reheat frozen chicken wings in the air fryer, oven, or microwave. There is no need to defrost before reheating.
Once reheated, consume or discard leftover. Don't refreeze.
How to reheat chicken wings in the air fryer: Arrange the wings in the air fryer basket and air fry for 4 minutes or until it's warmed through.
To reheat in the microwave: Put wings in a microwave-safe plate then put in the microwave to heat on high settings for 1 minute or until it's heated through.
To reheat in the oven: Arrange the wings on a baking tray, and bake at a temperature of 200C for 3-5 minutes or until it's warmed through.
Tips
- If the wings are stuck together and unseasoned, you can run them under the tap to separate into individual pieces or put them in the air fryer and air fry for few minutes when they'll then be easy to separate.
- Adjust the pepper quantity stated in this recipe to suit your taste. Increase the quantity if you like it hotter or reduce quantity if you prefer it less spicy.
- Place the chicken wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Don't overlap them so they are able to cook evenly.
