This air fryer chicken bites recipe is so good. It's easy, quick, and ready in just 20 minutes. It is also known as air fryer diced chicken and air fryer cubed chicken.
The chicken chunks are seasoned with a few herbs and spices and air fried to give aromatic, flavorful, and delicious chicken.
This boneless chicken bites in air fryer have no breading which makes them healthier than chicken nuggets with breading. It is high in protein, low carb, and keto.
The ingredients used to make it are clean and low calorie which makes it suitable for meal prepping for healthy meals. No artificial ingredients or preservatives were used in making it.
It's so simple to make, and not much is done in preparing it.
After it's been air fried, It can be tossed in garlic butter sauce or other sauces like lemon pepper, buffalo sauce, BBQ sauce, etc. I usually don't bother with this as the seasoning used in marinating the chicken is so good and tastes amazing.
This chicken bites in air fryer was made in my 5 liters AF which fitted 1kg chicken. If you have a smaller air fryer, you can make it in batches.

How To Cook Chicken Bites in Air Fryer
Pat the chicken dry with a paper towel then cut it into bite-size that is about an inch.
Add the cut chicken into a bowl then add the seasoning. Mix till well combined and chicken evenly coated in seasoning.
If you have time, put the chicken in the fridge to marinate for a few hours.
Set the air fryer to a temperature of 190C/380F then air fry the chicken chunks for 10-12 minutes or till cooked. Toss halfway through cooking.
Bring out of the air fryer, then serve the chicken.
Frozen Chicken Bites in Air Fryer
If cooking frozen chicken bites in air fryer, it takes a bit longer to cook than from fresh.
For preseasoned ones, remove the packaging and arrange it in the air fryer.
Set the air fryer to a temperature of 190C/380F then air fry the chicken chunks for 15 minutes or till cooked.
Bring out the air fryer basket.
Serve and enjoy.
How Long To Cook Chicken Bites in Air Fryer
For How long to cook chicken bites in air fryer depends on the size of the chunks, the temperature you are air frying at, type, and brand of the AF, and some other factors, however, how long to cook chicken bites at a temperature of 200C/400F is between 10 - 12 minutes.
How long to cook frozen chicken bites is between 12-20 minutes.
Also, how long to cook chicken bites at a temperature of 180C is between 12 - 18 minutes.
Chicken is cooked when an instant thermometer inserted in the thickest part reads at least 75C/165F.

It can be reheated in the microwave, air fryer, or oven.
To reheat in the air fryer: Arrange the chicken in the air fryer basket and air fry at a temperature of 180C for 3-4 minutes or till they are heated through.
To reheat in the microwave: Arrange the chicken on a microwave-safe plate, cover with a microwave dish cover then use the high settings of the microwave to warm it at 30-second intervals till it's warmed through.

I tried this recipe today, my first use of the air fryer. I'm not sure what I did wrong. I tossed the frozen chicken with olive oil and spices and had a single, uncrowded layer. I cooked them for 7 minutes then flipped and cooked another 8 minutes. After that time, temp was only 120F so I put them in for 5 minutes longer. After the time was up, they only registered at 160 F but they are dry like jerky and clearly cooked.
