    This is the best chicken wings marinade recipe. This marinade for wings is super easy, and quick to make taking only 5 minutes to prepare. It tenderizes the chicken, makes them flavorful, and delicious.

    This homemade chicken marinade is better than store bought. If you are looking for easy marinade for chicken wings for game days, appetizers, parties, or weeknight dinners, this is perfect.

    Best Chicken Wings Marinade Recipe

    This is the best chicken wings marinade. It is flavorful, aromatic, and made with a few simple ingredients. These ingredients are free of artificial flavor and preservatives.

    You can make it and store it in the refrigerator for later use.

    It's inexpensive and better than store-bought because you know exactly what's in it, and no hidden, unhealthy ingredients.

    Whether you're looking for chicken wings marinade for grilling, baking, or frying, this one is simple, fuss-free, but gives you moist, juicy, and delicious wings.

    To make this, you only require a few tools- a mixing container and measuring spoons.

    The quantity made in this post will marinate 1kg (2lb) of chicken. If you need more than that, you can double or triple the recipe. 

    After marinating wings with this and baking or frying them, you can still toss them in sauces like buffalo sauce, peri peri sauce, bbq sauce, if you wish.

    Does marinating chicken wings work?

    Yes, it does. The acidic nature of the lemon juice tenderizes the wings to absorb the flavors of the marinade. When cooked, you get juicy, tender, delicious wings.

    Ingredients

    Garlic powder 

    Onion granules

    Cumin

    Paprika

    Cayenne or black pepper

    Olive oil 

    Lemon juice

    Sugar

    Soy sauce

    How To Make Chicken Wings Marinade 

    In a bowl, add the paprika, cumin, parsley, garlic granules, onion granules, brown sugar, black pepper, soy sauce, olive oil, and lemon juice.

    Mix all the ingredients till well combined.

    Wings marinade is ready for use.

    What To Use on

    You can also use this marinade on any other poultry like turkey wings, duck, etc.

    It can also be used on other parts of chicken like the chicken breast, thighs, or legs. Some wings recipes you can use this marinade on include:

    How To Marinate Chicken Wings 

    Defrost the chicken wings first.

    Pat them dry with a paper towel.

    Add the marinade and chicken wings in a bowl then rub the marinade all over the wings ensuring that all parts are covered.

    Cover the bowl with clingfilm, then put it in the fridge to marinate for 4 hours up to 12 hours.

    Do not leave it for more than 24 hours.

    How Long To Marinate Chicken Wings

    It's best to marinate chicken wings for a minimum of 2 hours up to 24 hours in the fridge. The longer you marinate it, the more time it gets to absorb the flavors and tenderize. It's best when it is marinated for 4 to 12 hours. 

    Before baking, grilling, or frying the wings, bring them out of the fridge 30 minutes earlier to get them to room temperature before cooking. 

    How To Store

    The marinade can be preserved by storing it in the refrigerator.

    To Store in the fridge- put in an airtight jar or sealable bag, label, and store in the fridge for up to 3 days. 

    To Store in the freezer - Put it in a freezer-safe container, label with dates, and store in the freezer for up to 3 months.

    When ready to use, bring it out to thaw, shake the jar to mix the content, or use a whisk to mix till well combined. 

    Tips

    • Substitute black or cayenne pepper for any other type of ground pepper.
    • The marinade can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for 24 hours or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
    • Marinate chicken wings for at least 2 hours to get them infused with the flavors.

      I've made this recipe 5 or 6 times, sometimes I change up the ingredients a bit, to make it spicier, but it is VERY forgiving. I like it with the cumin added. Just did a double batch last night. Every time, they are the best wings I've ever had, I just grill with salt and pepper when done. I've even let sit for 4 days in the fridge, and it was still good. It is better than almost all other recipes. I DO USE FRESH GARLIC Iinstead of powder, and toasted sesame oil for the olive oil. I microwave the marinade to wake up the spices for 25 seconds before I mix. You can't go wrong.
