Air fryer sausage rolls recipe from scratch! These homemade sausage rolls in air fryer made with chicken sausages are buttery, flaky, delicious, and a great appetizer. It's easy, simple, and straightforward to make from frozen or fresh using, chicken, beef, pork, or any type of sausages. Let me show you how to make it.
First, make the shortcrust pastry - Add flour and butter into a bowl. Mix till it is crumblike in texture then add in the egg yolk (yolk only) and water. Mix till well combined and form a pastry. Wrap it in cling film and put it in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Remove the sausages from their casing. Put in a bowl, add in black pepper, and chicken seasoning, then mix it together till well combined.
Place the pastry on a clean worktop, roll it out and cut it into a long rectangular shape. Put the sausage filling in a straight line on the pastry.
Lightly brush one of the edges of the pastry with the egg white or water, then seal shut. Use a crimp, fork, or fingers to seal the edges as shown below.Cut into size. Repeat till pastry and filling are used up.
Place air fryer parchment paper in the air fryer basket or dust the air fryer basket lightly with flour (this is so the sausage rolls don't stick on the basket)
Make cuts on top of the rolls and brush with the egg white.
Air fry sausage rolls at a temperature of 170C for 10-15 minutes.
Bring out the air fryer basket, leave the sausages to rest for 5-10 minutes.Serve and enjoy.
